Introducing the ASDF Client Portal (A Smarter Way to Work With Clients)
2025-07-30
Let’s Be Honest: The Old Way... less then ideal.
If you’ve worked with an agency or freelancer, you’ve probably had this experience:
> “Can you resend the file?”
> “Is this the latest version?”
> “Any updates on the project?”
> “How do I check our site analytics again?”
Multiply that across ten clients, five team members, three time zones, and a few espresso shots, and you've got chaos.
So I built something better.

Meet the ASDF Client Portal
The ASDF Client Portal is a private, invite-only space for my clients. It’s where project updates, files, analytics, and support live in one place. It’s clean, secure, and built to make the whole experience easier on everyone.
This isn’t some out-of-the-box template. It’s a custom-built platform using modern tools like Supabase, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Recharts. It’s fast, secure, and made to scale.

Why I Built This for My Duluth Clients
Working with businesses across Minnesota and Wisconsin, I noticed the same communication challenges everywhere. Whether I'm building a site for a Duluth nonprofit or a Superior retail business, the old way of managing projects created friction.
Local businesses especially need transparency - when you're working with someone in your community, trust and clear communication matter even more.
---
Why I Built It Myself
I’ve been doing this long enough to know the usual project workflow has a lot of friction.
This portal solves the parts that usually get messy:
- Where do files go
- How do I send updates
- How do clients know what’s next
- How can they help themselves without pinging me for every question
I also wanted something that felt as professional as the websites I build.
No generic dashboards or clunky off-the-shelf software.
---
What's Under the Hood
- Next.js 15 for modern performance and flexibility
- Supabase for secure database and user auth
- Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui for clean UI
- GSAP animations for subtle motion
- Recharts for interactive charts
- TypeScript to keep everything type-safe and reliable
It’s fast, it’s secure, and it works great on phones, tablets, or desktops.
---
Benefits for Clients
- Always know where your project stands
- One place for everything related to your site
- Faster turnaround since we’re not losing time to file hunting or status updates
- A smoother, more transparent experience start to finish

What This Means for You
If you’re already a client, you’ll get access soon.
If you’re thinking about working together, this is part of the experience now.
Whether we’re working on a website, a brand refresh, or ongoing marketing, this portal makes the process more collaborative and way less frustrating.
---
Could This Work for Your Agency?
This portal was built specifically for how I manage clients at ASDF.Design — but if you're running an agency and thinking, "I wish we had something like this," you're not alone.
I’ve already started exploring what it might look like as a white-label platform. If there's enough interest, I might open it up for others. Shoot me a message if that sounds like something you'd use.
