Eye 02: Sensor
The robot take: an octagonal housing, counter-rotating rings, a core in the signal colour and shutter doors instead of lids.
Hover to wake it, click to reboot. Hold still and it scans. On a phone: drag or tilt to look, tap or shake.
What if it were less human and more system? The lens sits in an octagonal frame. Two segmented rings turn in opposite directions around a core that flickers between 0 and # in the site's signal colour, with crosshairs through the middle.
It tracks in servo steps, snapping from grid point to grid point. Leave the cursor still and it scans side to side. A click slams the shutter doors, flashes the core white like a reboot and spins the rings up.
Retired: way too on the nose. Back to organic for Eye 03.
